Speaking of Jung has been confronting its issues.

Amidst them all, we released three new episodes in March, are preparing two for April, two more for May, and one (so far) for June. Scroll down for all the details.

In Memoriam

Sadly, another guest has passed away – our beloved J. Gary Sparks (Ep. 2, 28, 35, 114 & 119). Speaking of Jung owes its existence to many people and he was one of them. Gary and I spoke on the phone just a few weeks before he left this mortal coil and I was left feeling his condition would improve…

Synchronistically, I was in the middle of Sherene Vismaya’s (Ep. 58 & 137) 21-day intensive (and it was intense!) where death was one of the themes. Simultaneously, I was preparing to interview James Hollis (Ep. 25, 27, 32, 65, 79, 100, 129 & 138) about his new book, Living with Borrowed Dust (“We must daily, but non-morbidly, recall Stanley Kunitz’s reminder: ‘I only borrowed this dust.’ Sooner or later, we have to return the loan.” p. 138), and preparing to speak with Luis Moris (Ep. 90 & 139) about his latest book, Confronting Death. It was a heavy time. Still is.

Gary was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by many.

April 14: Flying Saucers

Professor Paul Bishop, Ph.D. (Ep. 131 & 135) returns for an in-depth discussion on Jung’s essay, Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies, which is included in Vol. 10 of Jung’s Collected Works, Civilization in Transition. During this episode, I will be sharing what I learn at the upcoming Archives of the Impossible conference at Rice University.

April 24: Stefano Carpani

Jungian analyst Stefano Carpani, Ph.D. (first-time guest) joins us from Berlin, Germany to discuss his Jungian yearbook, Jungianeum, and its first online conference, Democracy on the Couch: In Search of the Forgotten Self, taking place May 24-25. May 14: Men and Psychoanalysis

Jungian analyst and former law professor Leslie Stein (Ep. 113) returns to us from Sydney, Australia to discuss his latest novel, The Psychoanalysis of Dr. Seele, released in February by Arcade Publishing. It’s the story of men and analysis, focusing especially on the one-sided man.

May 30: Dariane Pictet

Jungian analyst Dariane Pictet (first-time guest) will join us from ISAPZURICH to discuss her portrayal of Olga Fröbe-Kapteyn (1881-1962), founder of Eranos, the meeting place between East and West. Dariane played Olga in the recent production of Eranos: A Play, written by Jungian analysts Henry Abramovitch and Murray Stein.

June 11: Fiann Paul

Jungian analyst and rower Fiann Paul (first-time guest) is a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich where he is also an instructor. He holds 43 Guinness World Records for his geographical explorations and is the only person who has rowed every ocean. He is also an artist and holds four different academic degrees. Having a passion for anthropology, Fiann has lived on every continent which he values as his experiential education.
