Joining us for the 3rd edition of our new Quarantine Series is the creator and host of The Mind’s Eye Show, Brian Turnof in Baltimore, Maryland.

He holds a degree in childhood education from Hunter College in New York City and taught for many years in the state’s school system. His past professional experiences include stints as a DJ and as a Promotions Director for a Top 20 market radio station.

Since 2009, Brian has been moonlighting as a paranormal investgator and researcher with Shadows of the Paranormal. Their mission is to discover the truth behind paranormal claims and to help people in need. In 2012, he launched their weekly radio show, Misguided Souls. As producer and cohost, he took the position of resident skeptic. Initially intrigued by a personal search for the existence of spirits based on a deep fear of death, his mission after numerous years of investigating is to assist people in need, and to find tangible proof of life after life. Utilizing these practices, he has conducted lectures and workshops about various paranormal and nonparanormal topics at public libraries and schools along the East Coast.

Brian is best known as “DJ BJ Turnof,” host of the long-running podcast The Mind’s Eye. Created in 2014, the show thoughtfully examines wide-ranging topics with a focus on cutting edge scientific theories, current and historical events, morality and politics, as well as pop culture and the esoteric. His guests include the late Dr. Stanton Friedman, Robert Bauval, Rick Strassman, Nick Redfern, Robert Schoch, and our friend Jimmy Church.

With his characteristic open-minded perspective, Brian often veers listeners into new and unexpected territories. As an experienced secondary school teacher, he is intimately aware of how history is written by the winners through educational gaps and disinformation ultimately blurring the lines between reality and fiction. By shining a light on the hidden, often dirty crevices of history, the show hopes to find kernels of truth and give voice to the voiceless.
