Joining us for the first Quarantine Edition of 2021 are author and illustrator Mike Clelland in Saranac Lake, New York, and Jungian analyst Dr. Kenneth James in Chicago.
Mike Clelland is a seasoned outdoorsman and UFO researcher who has written extensively on the subject of owls, synchronicities, and alien abductions. It was his first-hand experiences with these elusive events that have been the foundation for this research.
His long running blog, Hidden Experience, explores alien contact and how it overlaps with a long list of other strange phenomena. It also features extended audio interviews with visionaries and experts examining the complexities of the overall UFO experience. He hosts a monthly podcast, The Unseen with Mike Clelland, on Whitley Strieber’s unknowncountry.com.
Mike’s first book, The Messengers, explores the mysterious connection between owls, synchronicities and UFO abduction, and includes a foreword by popular UFO historian, Richard Dolan. Originally published in 2015, an updated edition was released just last year.
A companion book, Stories from The Messengers, is a further exploration into the connection, both symbolic and literal, between owls and UFOs. It reads like a collection of short stories, with each chapter telling a deeply personal story where these mysterious experiences are explored in depth. The foreword was written by best-selling author and UFO abductee Whitley Strieber.
Recently, Mike published a selection of his blog posts in a nearly 400-page book titled, Hidden Experience: A Memoir of Owls, Synchronicity, & UFO Contact. It includes a foreword by Red Pill Junkie.
Both Stories from The Messengers and Hidden Experience are available as audiobooks read by Mike himself. (And they are intense. I’ve listened to both of them.)
Mike is also considered an expert in the skills of ultralight backpacking, and is the author and illustrator of a series of instructional books on advanced outdoor techniques. He has worked as an outdoor educator in some of the most beautiful and remote areas of North America. He spent nearly 25 years living in the Rockies, and now resides in the Adirondack Mountains of New York.
Dr. Kenneth James holds a Ph.D. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University, and a Diploma in Analytical Psychology, which is the degree of a Jungian analyst, from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago.
Along with a background in mathematics, he completed four years of post-doctoral study in theology and scripture at the Catholic Theological Union. He has also taken lay ordination as a Zen Buddhist under Roshi Richard Langlois and studied the Kabbalah with the Lubavitcher Rabbi Meir Chai Benhiyoun. He holds the rank of professor emeritus after a 33 year career as a university professor, and now devotes his time as founder and director of The Soulwork Center in downtown Chicago where he practices as a Jungian analyst. He is also a frequent speaker at the C.G. Jung Center in Evanston, Illinois.
In addition to his appearances on this podcast in Episode 45 and Episode 56, Dr. James has been a guest on Richard C. Hoagland’s The Other Side of Midnight, Fade to Black with Jimmy Church, and the long-running late-night radio show, Coast to Coast AM.
