John Ryan Haule, Ph.D. is a Jungian analyst and author in private practice near Boston, Massachusetts.
This is Dr. Haule’s fourth and final episode in this series on Jung in the 21st Century.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Detroit and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Temple University where his dissertation was on Jung and Martin Heidegger, titled “Imagination & Myth: A Heideggerian Interpretation of C.G. Jung.” He taught Religion and Culture at Northeastern University for three years before training as a Jungian analyst at the original C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich where he earned a Diploma in Analytical Psychology.
Dr. Haule has been practicing as a Jungian analyst in the Boston area since 1980. He served as president of the New England Society of Jungian Analysts and the C.G. Jung Institute Boston, and as convener of the American Council of Jungian Analysts. He also spent several years on the Executive Committee of the International Association for Analytical Psychology based in Zürich.
Currently, he is a lecturer at the C.G. Jung Institute in Küsnacht and is an active member in their alumni association.

His essay, “Jung Comes Back to Himself,” reflections on the connections between The Red Book and Gnosticism, was published in Vol. 4 of Jung’s Red Book for Our Time: Searching for Soul Under Postmodern Conditions, edited by frequent Speaking of Jung guest Dr. Murray Stein and the late Dr. Thomas Arzt.
Dr. Haule’s professional work has focused on the generally overlooked spiritual and emotional dimensions of everyday life. In this episode, the fourth in a series, we discuss the second volume of Jung in the 21st Century on synchronicity and science.
