Marianne Meister-Notter, Ph.D. is a Jungian analyst, lecturer, training analyst and supervisor at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich, Switzerland.
She holds a degree in German language and literature, philosophy and art history from the University of Zürich where she later went on to earn her doctorate. Her dissertation was on the subject of children’s language and relationship behavior. She later received two additional degrees from the University of Zürich: one in clinical psychology and the other in psychopathology of adults.
Dr. Meister trained as a Jungian analyst at the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich, graduating with a Diploma in Analytical Psychology (the degree of a Jungian analyst) in 2002. She received supervision training at the Swiss Society for Analytical Psychology and at the Jung Institute, and further training in process and embodiment-focused psychology (PEP) with Michael Bohne, M.D.
Dr. Meister is a psychotherapist qualified by the Association of Swiss Psychotherapists, a specialist psychologist qualified by the Federation of Swiss Psychotherapists, and a psychoanalyst for adults, children, and young people qualified by the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich in Küsnacht.
She is also trained in Dora Kalff’s method of Sandplay Therapy and is a training analyst, teacher and supervisor for Sandplay qualified by both the Swiss and International Societies for Sandplay Therapy.
From 2010 to 2017, Dr. Meister served as president of the Ethics Commission of the Association of Swiss Psychotherapists. For eight years she served as vice president of the Jung Institute’s Curatorium and as head of their Further Training and Vocational Policy committee. Currently, she works as a lecturer and a training and supervising analyst at the Jung Institute and has a private practice in Zürich, Switzerland.
She is the author of The Key to the Self: Understanding Yourself through Depth Psychological Astrology, originally published in German by Patmos in 2015, and just this year was published in English by Chiron. She also contributed the chapter, “C.G. Jung, Individuation, and Painting the Unconscious,” in the 2020 book, Breakfast at Küsnacht: Conversations on C.G. Jung & Beyond, edited by Jungian analyst Stefano Carpani.
