Episode Q10: Gnosticism

Joining us for the 10th edition of our special Quarantine Series is Miguel Conner somewhere outside the lawful dystopia that is Chicago, Illinois.

He is, in the words of our friend Gordon White, an independent iconoclast and a walking, talking library of Alexandria. As the legendary host of Aeon Byte Gnostic Radio, his life quest is to take his audience from ancient connections to modern meaning. He often says, ‘Write your own gospel and live your own myth…or someone else will do that for you.’ Now in its 14th year, his wildly popular show deals with eternal heresies and game-changing mysticism.

Miguel is the author of the critically acclaimed Voices of Gnosticism: Interviews with Elaine Pagels, Marvin Meyer, Bruce Chilton, Bart Ehrman, Karen King, Stevan Davies & Other Leading Scholars, and its sequel, Other Voices of Gnosticism: Interviews with Tobias Churton, Nicola Denzey-Lewis, Richard Smoley, Gary Lachman, Stephan Hoeller, David Brakke, Robert Price, Eric G. Wilson, Nathaniel Deutsch, Sean Martin, Erik Davis, Daniel C. Matt, Willis Barnstone, & Ismo Dunderberg.

He is also the author of the fantasy novel, The Executioner’s Daughter, and the post-apocalyptic epic vampire series, The Dark Instinct Trilogy, which includes Stargazer/The Queen of Darkness, and Heretic.

His articles and fiction have appeared in such publications as The Gnostic Journal, The Heretic, Mindscape, Reality Sandwich, and The Cimmerian Journal, and he has been the coveted Author of the Month for grahamhancock.com.

Miguel has lectured or appeared at such events as Mythicist Milwaukee, the Alan Eisenberg Show on WRJN, Magick Radio on AM 1680 Chicago, Rune Soup, Skeptiko, The Higherside Chats, and The Gnostic Countercultures Conference at Rice University. He has done narrations for audiobooks like Concerto of the Rising Sun and The Secret Teachings of All Ages. He lives just outside of the lawful dystopia of Chicago, patiently waiting for the beginning of the world.
