Returning to the podcast is the author of Jung’s Map of the Soul, Jungian analyst Dr. Murray Stein in Zürich, Switzerland.
He holds a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School at Yale University in Connecticut, and a Ph.D. in religion and psychological studies from the University of Chicago. He trained as a Jungian analyst at the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich where he earned a Diploma in Analytical Psychology (the degree of a Jungian analyst), and later went on to co-found the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago where he worked as a training analyst.
Dr. Stein has served as president of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and the International School of Analytical Psychology (ISAP Zürich) where he currently works as a training and supervising analyst.
He is the author of over a dozen books including Minding the Self, Men Under Construction, and In Midlife. And his latest book, Four Pillars of Jungian Psychoanalysis, was published on February 1st by Chiron. He is co-editor of the multi-volume series Jung’s Red Book for Our Time, and his interview with Dr. Thomas Kirsch is included in the book, A Jungian Legacy, edited by Ep. 90 guest Luis Moris.
Dr. Stein’s Collected Writings are currently being published by Chiron. The latest volume, The Practice of Jungian Psychoanalysis, will be released on March 15th. And his Map of the Soul book series for young adults, published from 2019 to 2020, includes transcripts from our episodes on the Grammy-nominated, chart-topping group BTS. His previous appearances on this podcast date back to 2015 when I visited him at his office in Zürich (Ep. 9).
